Privacy
This site counts visits without cookies, on its own server, and shares nothing with anyone.
The details, as the GDPR requires them. Last updated 27 September 2026.
Who is responsible

Hosting
The site runs on a server rented from IONOS SE in Germany. Like every web server, it logs each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, the site you came from, and your browser's name. The logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted automatically after a short time. IONOS handles this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, my legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Cloudflare
Requests pass through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which protects the site from attacks and delivers it faster. To do that it processes your IP address and the request itself. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.Cloudflare's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
Visit statistics
I count visits with Matomo, which runs on this site's own server, so the data never leaves it. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and removes the last two parts of your IP address before saving it. It records which pages were viewed, which links were followed out, the site you came from, and your browser and operating system. I use it only to see what gets read. Raw visit records are deleted after six months. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, nothing is recorded. You can also object at any time by email.
Links to other sites
Every paper links to its publisher or another source. Nothing is loaded from those sites until you click a link; after that, their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You can ask what data about you I hold (Art. 15 GDPR) and have it corrected (Art. 16), deleted (Art. 17) or restricted (Art. 18), get it in a portable format (Art. 20), and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Just email me. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example Hamburg'sBeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (opens in a new tab).
